Murals inspire athletic passion

            Located on the second floor near the girl’s softball field are two murals painted by Softball Coach Rich Hoppe. These murals that have been displayed since January and February can be difficult to find, but they should still be recognized and appreciated for its message and tribute to softball. (more…)

Wear excessively tight rubber gloves and imagine the numbness and subtle tingles down your fingers.
Put on some ankle and wrist weights and feel the heaviness.

            Denial is the act of not believing or accepting something as fact or reality, a word that is closely tied to the date of April 24, 1915 for Armenians worldwide.
            To most students across the nation, this day may be another routine morning, afternoon, and night. Yet, to the wonderful city of Glendale, California where the majority ethnicity is Armenian, it is a day filled with scorn, angst, and rage. At least that is the way it should be.  (more…)

Interestingly enough, soap is believed to have existed ever since ancient Babylonian times around 2,800 B.C.E. Although the ancient people did not wash their hands thoroughly, they used whatever technique they could to at least clean their hands.   So in today’s world, where a much more chemically effective and advanced amalgamation of soap is created, why do people still fail to correctly wash their hands?            (more…)

            Starting in September, the arts and physical education departments will undergo various improvements because of the Arts, Music, and Physical Education (P.E.) block grant passed by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in part of the Budget Act of 2006. The grant will provide GUSD with $445,000 to the arts and $845,000 to P.E., which will be equally distributed to different high schools.
