Picture a team making it to playoffs with an undefeated record. Picture a team where each player is able to work with his peers. Picture a team that does the job it is supposed to do, and finally, accomplishes its goals due to the hard work put into the game.

Chile spices it up

After a season is over, most athletes relax and reflect on the season, but not Deny “Chile” Jaco (’06). He has been going the distance of making the transition from football to baseball since his freshman year.
He started playing baseball at the age of five then gained interest in football at ten.
“It’s a big transition for me,” said Jaco. “I’m always behind in one sport and when one season is over I have to start getting into the mindset for the new season of a different sport.”

Baseball victorious in tri-city

It is never a surprise to hear that the varsity baseball team has won a game. Nor would it be to anyone’s surprise to hear that the team has been honored as City Champions.
“It feels good [to be City Champions],” said varsity baseball player Chile Jaco (’06). “We beat [Crescenta Valley High School] . . . our rival in baseball.”

There are films that are so bad that they are considered good, meaning they are terrible but watchable and entertaining in a negative sense. However, there are some films, particularly those on this list, that simply cause the viewer to cringe upon viewing. Following the year each film was released is the name of the director of that film.

Film is considered an art form for the same reasons that painting, music, and theater are. However, film combines all forms of art in one broad spectrum in order to tell a story or deliver a message. The films listed here do so, but they take the viewer beyond the point of entertainment. The messages delivered impact lives and change people’s perspectives of the world. They are ordered in my list for effortless viewing, but I favor these films on different levels. Following the year each film was released is the name of the director of that film.

Fans prepare for Warped summer

The sun is blazing, the crowd is packed, and the heads are bobbing to familiar guitar riffs blasting from the speakers. Welcome to Vans Warped Tour 2005.
With its 15th year in action, Warped Tour is a tradition unlike any other. Every summer, over 50 alternative, hardcore, punk, and emo bands come together and tour all across the nation from New York to California, putting on an all-day concert for their many fans.
